The bergamot ripened on the tree in Calabria, Southern Italy, the only place on earth where exceptional quality bergamot oil comes from. And this bergamot oil is also organically certified, as indicated by the European organic label.
Bergamot oil is greenish-yellow in color and is pressed from the peel of the almost ripe bergamot fruit. The fruits are somewhat pear-shaped and turn yellowish when ripe. Bergamot trees are specifically cultivated for their essential oil, mainly in southern Italy. Bergamot is the well-known aroma of Earl Grey tea. The scent of bergamot is fresh, sweet, and fruity. 200kg of fresh peels are needed for 1 liter of bergamot oil.
