Chi Shea Butter Organic
About shea butter:
Shea butter is a must-have for daily skin care! It keeps the skin soft and supple and contributes to firm skin. Shea butter is a cold-pressed butter from the nuts of the shea butter tree and has been used in Africa for centuries in skin care.
Shea butter is a valuable top product for skin care. Compared to all other vegetable fats and oils, shea butter has the highest proportion of so-called fat-accompanying substances, including – especially – triterpene alcohols, vitamin E, provitamin A, and allantoin.
Important components and functions in Shea Butter:
Triterpene alcohols are components of vegetable fats and protect the leaf surface from drying out. It is no coincidence that the tree can tolerate drought so well. Shea butter offers this same moisture-retaining property for our skin.
Allantoin has a protective and soothing effect on the skin and helps the skin's regenerative capacity.
Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant. Antioxidants protect against harmful effects such as pollution and ensure that free radicals do not get a chance to damage collagen and elastin fibers. Vitamin E is responsible for the light protection factor against UV radiation.
Provitamin A is also a strong antioxidant. In addition, it stimulates collagen production and has a beneficial effect on pigment and age spots.
Skin care:
Shea butter has a firm texture but melts easily with a melting point between 28 and 36 °C, so it melts easily on your skin! It is absorbed surprisingly quickly by the skin and leaves no greasy layer on the skin. Shea butter mixes well with other vegetable oils, it provides firmness in a mixture and stabilizes the other components. A balm with a shea butter base is easy to spread on the skin and makes the skin supple and soft. Shea butter is ideal for use as an aftershave butter. Thanks to its restorative properties, you can use shea butter for rough skin and cracks. This butter is also widely used in hair care.
