Much basil oil with linalool as its main component comes from areas around the Mediterranean; that's why it's also called European basil. Basil CT linalool oil is sweeter than chavicol oil. It adds a lot of zest to the diffuser: for tired people, for mild depressive symptoms, basil acts like a breath of fresh air.
It is an excellent insect repellent oil. A few drops of basil in a cream or massage oil revitalises the skin and firms slack skin.
