Murumuru butter is extracted from the seeds of the Astrocaryum murumuru palm, a tree that grows in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest. The name 'murumuru' comes from the language of the Ashaninka Indians, who have used this vegetable butter for centuries for skin and hair care.
