Chi Organic Orange Blossom Hydrosol
A floral water derived from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree. A wonderfully floral and intriguing scent. Due to its fragrance, orange blossom hydrosol is used in cosmetics. Lightly hydrating for the outer skin layer and beneficial for sensitive skin. Its slightly astringent effect makes orange blossom ideal for oily skin. For dry skin, it is advisable to mix orange blossom with rose or lavender hydrosol. A dash in the bath acts as a perfume. Every nursery should have gentle orange blossom hydrosol for baby skin care.
Please note: This hydrosol contains a Cosmos/Ecocert approved preservative, which makes this hydrosol suitable for cosmetic use only.
What are hydrosols?
Distilling plants produces two products: essential oil and hydrosol. A hydrosol has different components and active ingredients than the essential oil from the same plant material. Hydrosols are less potent than essential oils but certainly not inferior! Hydrosols are versatile and easy to use: from refreshing to caring for very sensitive skin.
Ingredients (INCI)
Citrus aurantium amara flower water, Benzyl alcohol, Dehydroacetic acid (Geogard), Aqua, LINALOOL, GERANIOL
Usage
Because hydrosols are rich in water-soluble components, they are very well tolerated. Hydrosols are very gentle and therefore suitable for everyone. The possibilities are almost endless. These floral or herbal waters can be used in skin care, in the household, and have many more practical applications!
Skin care: as a hydrating and refreshing spray, to dilute clay masks, or as a cleansing lotion.
Storage advice
Hydrosols have a shorter shelf life than essential oils. Fresh hydrosols are pure and bacteria-free. It is best to store a hydrosol in the refrigerator, or as cool (and dark) as possible. After opening, most hydrosols last for 1.5 years.

For over 20 years, Chi Natural Life has successfully offered this product without preservatives, however, it is extremely difficult to keep some hydrosols stable for a longer period. We are increasingly seeing that produced batches do not meet our high-quality requirements, where a hydrosol may only have a shelf life of 6 months, which is insufficient. Therefore, a very small amount of Geogard has been added to our Orange Blossom hydrosol and Witch Hazel hydrosol. This is a preservative that is Cosmos/Ecocert compliant and therefore allowed to carry the natural cosmetics label. However, this ingredient means that these hydrosols are no longer suitable for consumption.
