Patchouli is a well-known oil from the sixties and seventies. Clothes from India could be recognized by the scent of patchouli. The patchouli plant somewhat resembles our peppermint. Its strong scent has admirers and haters. This is usually very clear. An important raw material for the perfume industry. Patchouli calms nervousness that manifests as skin problems. It can also be used where the skin needs repair, such as pimples, inflamed skin, etc. When diffused, patchouli has grounding and uplifting effects, and the oil is good for use in cases of stress and fatigue. When used on the skin, the essential oil should be mixed with a massage oil or fatty vegetable oil.

Use in a fragrance lamp or in a cosmetic preparation.

May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways. Causes skin irritation. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Causes serious eye irritation. Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Avoid release to the environment. IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes; remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do; continue rinsing. Do NOT induce vomiting. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention.
